How to keep your Children safe while on holiday abroad. No matter which part of the world you travel many holiday destinations worldwide have different rules and regulations on safety when entering their country.
Vaccinations for all types of disease like Malaria Yellow fever Hepatitis and so on are very high risk ailments in the tropics
so proof may be asked for by local authorities to make sure you have been vaccinated.
This is for your own safety. See how they care before you even arrive at your holiday destination. Great care must be taken before you travel with your Children especially to tropical resorts.
Common sense will keep your family safe. A mother’s instinct is to protect her young and she can become over protective therefore no fun for the child. Remember you are on holiday so let the kids build their sandcastles.
In foreign countries all strict safety measures are taken to keep you the tourist safe but it is wise to nip in the bud any unnecessary misfortunes that could arise through a little stupidly.
Abroad and the climate can differ so much from what you and your children may be accustomed too. So top priority a total sun block cream for the Children even if the day is muggy and clouded over please be warned the sun can still do damage. So slap on the Sun protection barrier as soon as you leave the hotel.
Sunburn today/Sorrow tomorrow.
To avoid upset stomachs drink bottled water.
An evening out with the family and you fancy a cool refreshing drink with ice then check that the ice is safe by identifying a bellied hole in it.
Safety on the beach.
If the Children want to paddle let them, just make sure you are close by and within easy reach for fear they take a tumble or run into a little trouble.
It is also wise to keep their sandals on for wading in and out of the water. The waters edge can be a little pebbly and uncomfortable. I emphasize most importantly whether it be Benidorm beaches or on any other beaches around the world never let your Children out of your sight. All mothers know you have to have eyes in the back of your head where kiddies are concerned.
Balconies and terraces of your hotel may be high rise so never leave your child unattended. If your hotel provided you with a table and chairs on your balcony move them to the side so that the babies are not tempted to climb.
Restaurants abroad cater for families. Make sure before plying the Children with spicy foods that you carry appropriate medicines for tummy upsets, diarrhea is quite common if you are not used to rich foods. Pharmacies and chemists can be found all over Benidorm should you need them.
A day out at a theme park take the Children by the hand. Amusement parks attract thousands of visitors and can become packed. So no holding hands no child. It is quite easy to lose your Children on a day out. All the excitement just makes the child want to break free, nip it in the bud hold tight.
Now as for traffic common sense prevails. In foreign countries you will see major differences when it comes to driving and how there Highway Code is never upheld in a lot of places. Please approach even zebra crossings with caution and when I say look left and right. I mean left right left right left right.
Be extra vigilant with your valuables thieves and pick pockets lay in wait. Children can be very distracting at times causing you to forget your belongings at your side. Be careful and they will stay at your side.
Swimming pools are great fun and Children want to be in them up until midnight if they could. Just make sure at midnight that they are tucked up in their bed. Depending on age show the children where the local police station is and then that way should they get lost they know where to go for help. Every morning put a little piece of paper with the name of your hotel in their pocket or every time you leave the hotel to go down to the beach wave back at the hotel stating the hotels name at the same time Flamingo or whatever it is called. Consciously in some cases Children will remember the name of your hotel if lost. Last but not least your kids are not to talk to strangers on holiday or at home.
