Don’t be a victim
No matter what part of the world you travel to always be on guard of pickpockets and thieves who are just waiting to pounce to take what is not theirs. Valuables keep at your side or if not left back at the hotel in a secure safety deposit box. You will find all hotels provide this facility for their guests.
From under your nose, scammers will and can easily take your money by tempting you take part in a game of chance, where you the victim (prey) guess which cup the pea is under. These thieves work together in groups; they place dodgy bogus punters to gamble enticing you to join in, remember these people can become violent if rumbled.
A fool and his money are soon parted
Venues where robbers wait to pounce are the pubs and clubs. A few drinks too many and hey presto there you go? Theirs for the taking (Warning) little children are well trained in this department to take what is not theirs. Beware of the flower sellers.
Be cautious and vigilant at all times and cautious when entering dark alleys.
What I say is not to frighten, but to protect you. This also applies to back home as well. Choose to lose your valuables the choice is yours, common sense will help you to keep what is rightfully yours.
Thieves’ robbers what ever you like to call them are still all pilferers who make a living out of stealing. Cameras and handbags from your shoulder, yes that’s right when you are still carrying them. How you may ask? these people are professionals.
They lie in wait at taxi and bus queues. They then slit your bag and take all the content, they are that good at what they do, you may not even notice your worldly goods gone until you are back at the hotel. Thieves operate in pairs or gangs; my advice to you is to be on your guard at all times.
All documents should be checked before departure especially travel insurance, make sure you are covered for health/accidents etc. What is the point of buying a cheap ticket to your holiday destination, only to lose what ever savings you made on finding that bargain, be taken from you.
